While it may not be entirely feasible to jet off to Italy for the evening, you can welcome the new year from the lush Italian-inspired surrounds at Cucina Vivo. Get your night off to a sensational start with a three-course share menu complete with two-hour beverage package at the venue’s first sitting or settle in for the full Italian festa with a five-course degustation and four-hour beverage package from 8:00 pm. Among the culinary delights on offer is Hervey Bay spanner crab-stuffed zucchini flowers, Borrowdale pork with cauliflower puree and meltingly tender lamb leg slow-cooked over coals – deliziosa! If fireworks, food and fun sound like your vibe for New Years, Garden Kitchen & Bar is the place to be! Whether you’re keen to chill on the lawn with a cocktail and a picnic, indulge in a special dinner in the restaurant or dance on the deck, Garden Kitchen & Bar has you covered. The restaurant promises to please with a reduced A la carte menu for the early birds followed by a sensational spread of wasabi citrus-marinated kingfish, lamb croquette or Black Onyx MB3+ beef striploin for mains. Not a fan of meat? The baked risotto with charred asparagus and red pepper coulis and crisp chickpea disks are guaranteed to hit the sweet spot. Got seven mates you’re keen to ring in the new year with? Sprawl out on The Lawn with a lavish picnic package for eight complete with a three-hour drinks package, charcuterie plate loaded with salami, bresaola, pickled vegetables, grissini and marinated Australian olive followed by Angus beef sliders and mini cheese kransky hot dogs. NYE at Nineteen At The Star
If you’re really keen to up the ante this New Year’s Eve, it doesn’t get much more lavish than Nineteen At The Star. Enjoy an unforgettable multi-course dining experience in the ultra-chic surrounds complete with top shelf tipple. There are two sittings, the Sunset Menu from 5:30–8:00 pm followed by the Moonlight Menu, which is from 8:30 pm onwards. The Sunset Menu is $160 per person and includes freshly shucked oysters, grilled Patagonian toothfish, roast Highland duck and slow-roast prime rib. San, Ni, Ichni…happy new year! Say sayonara to the decade in Japanese style at Kiyomi with innovative dishes created by the visionary Executive Chef Chase Kojima and sophisticated surrounds. The New Years Eve package is $149.20 per person and includes a set menu shared between two people and offers sensational sashimi, scallop ceviche, lobster tempura and confit ocean trout, to name a few. NYE at Harvest Buffet
It’s the last meal for 2019 so you may as well make it a great one with a sumptuous buffet spread. Arrive at 2020 filled to the brim with creamy garlic bug tails, Australian clams, prawns and three types of chilled crab. Slurp Sydney rock oysters before moving onto the carvery for slow-roasted sirloin, maple and mustard-glazed pork chops and meltingly tender lamb. Feeling a little Asian vibe? Get your fill of honey soy chicken, egg fried rice and pork dumplings and if fare from the Mediterranean floats your boat, there will be pizzas, spinach and ricotta lasagne and truffle mac and cheese to please.
