The Gold Coast Film Festival will run from 15-26 April, 2020, bringing film to life across the Gold Coast. 🎥🍿
The Gold Coast Film Festival will feature 100+ films, panels, parties and events at 10+ locations on the Gold Coast, from Coomera in the north to Coolangatta in the south.
Walk the red carpet on opening night alongside actors, filmmakers and film crew. Learn from Australia's leading producers, writers and directors in intimate seminars and workshops. Be captivated by internationally acclaimed dramas, comedies and genre films, local indie gems, engaging documentaries, family features, and the scariest horror films.

✨ OPENING NIGHT Wednesday 15 April - HOTA, Home of the Arts A festival highlight! Don't miss the red carpet arrivals, premiere film screening and VIP afterparty to launch the 2020 Gold Coast Film Festival. ✨ SCREEN INDUSTRY GALA AWARDS Thursday 16 April - Movie World A dazzling awards night bringing together Queensland screen industry businesses and supporters to recognise and celebrate the achievements of award winners and finalists - with the national screen industry award The Chauvel Award at its heart. Presented in partnership with Movie World.
✨ WOMEN IN FILM LUNCH Friday 17 April - Bazaar, QT Gold Coast An afternoon of insightful speakers and networking to celebrate women in film and television in Australia, alongside a sumptuous seafood buffet and three-hour drinks package in the gorgeous surrounds of Bazaar at QT Gold Coast, presented by Screen Queensland. In partnership with QT Gold Coast and ABC Gold Coast.
✨ SIPFEST: SHORTS IN PARADISE FESTIVAL Saturday 18 April - Surfers Paradise Beach Free short film festival on the sand of the iconic Surfers Paradise beach with $8,000 in cash awarded to filmmakers, including the People's Choice Award voted for by the audience on the night. Presented in partnership with Surfers Paradise Alliance.
✨ GOLD COAST MOVIE LOCATIONS TOUR Sunday 19 & Sunday 26 April - Departs HOTA, Home of the Arts Go behind-the-scenes with Australia's first movie location tour! This 3-hour guided bus tour is jam-packed with film locations made famous by both international blockbusters and Australian classics and is filled with behind-the-scenes stories, interviews with Queensland filmmakers, and celebrity hotspots.
✨ CLOSING NIGHT Sunday 26 April - HOTA Home of the Arts That’s a wrap! Join us in celebrating the end of the 2020 Gold Coast Film Festival.
